Job Posting – Rental Accounting (Victoria)

This role is responsible for multiple aspects of our accounting processes, specifically related to our rental management portfolio. Among other things, this position manages the receivables process, maintains pre-authorized payment information, administers arrears processes and liaises with other members of the team.

This role functions in a team environment where different positions work together to ensure our accounting functions are completed in a timely, clear and accurate manner. When people on the accounting team need help, others notice and volunteer to pitch in as needed and get the job done, and cross training is essential for our successes. Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entire process related to rental receivables
  • Administers rental portfolios as assigned including:

    • Preparation of arrears listings for property managers
    • Calculation of property management fees
    • Preparation, reconciliation and distribution of monthly operating statements
    • Calculation and reconciliation of payments to owners
  • Processes security deposit refunds for rental properties
  • Assists in the arrears process for rental properties
  • Sets up and maintains new rental owners and tenants in accounting database
  • Maintains direct deposit information for rental owners
  • Liaises with building managers, clients, tenants, suppliers, and property managers as required
  • Handles confidential documents
  • Maintains orderly records including timely filing of all paperwork
  • Other duties as required

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting education
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Good working knowledge of office machines (i.e. – photocopiers, fax machines)
  • Ability to manage a number of tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage people and situations gracefully

External Job Posting – Concierge/Manager (Victoria)

We are hiring a concierge/manager for a high end building in Victoria. The successful applicant will have excellent people and customer service skills along with solid administrative and computer experience. The successful applicant should be familiar with some basic building systems and ideally have worked in a concierge style role within a condominium setting.

This position is the hub of a community, creating a personable and efficiently run environment for the residents and other team members. The ideal candidate will be highly trustworthy, consistently demonstrating integrity, discretion and patience. Challenges will be met with a calm and collected demeanour, and solutions will be sought that will allow the best outcome for all involved. This person will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and listening skills, and derive pleasure from working with and helping others. They will enjoy keeping systems running smoothly and keeping information and their space organized and efficient. When many things are going on at once, they will keep their cool and find solutions in a positive manner by accurately prioritizing and engaging with all involved, including residents, trades people, the management company and all other players.
