Accounting Support Position

We are looking for a new member of our accounting team to cover a one year maternity leave position. This opportunity will allow you to be part of a positive and friendly team of knowledgeable and experienced accounting professionals. You will work in an engaged and industry leading organization, giving you the opportunity to gain experience and contribute your unique skills to the team. You will be exposed to concepts of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, electronic filing and accounting processes and systems.

In your role, you will be responsible for managing your own work and completing specific tasks that require a strong ability to focus. As the ideal candidate, you are precise and a logical thinker who enjoys completing repetitive tasks. You notice the details and investigate if something isn’t right. While you may be new to the field of accounting, you understand basic accounting language and concepts and are interested in learning more in a hands on environment. You have a positive attitude and can effectively integrate into a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completing journal entries
  • Electronic filing of documents
  • Enter information in accounting software
  • Review data input for all monthly cheque runs
  • Processing emailed accounts payable invoices
  • Entering and importing information in spreadsheets
  • Prepare, post and deposit laundry coin for all properties
  • Various accounting related tasks as required
  • Following office and company protocol regarding services
  • Positively representing the company in the community
  • Handling confidential documents with complete discretion
  • Other duties as required

Experience & Qualifications

  • 1+ year accounting experience or education preferred
  • Office experience an asset
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to focus
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage own schedule and prioritize effectively
  • Good working knowledge of office machines (i.e. – photocopiers, fax machines)

This is a full-time, temporary position.

Job Posting – Front Desk Assistant (Victoria)   

We are looking for a front desk assistant for a luxury condo building in Victoria. The front desk team is the face of the building for all residents and visitors and attends to residents’ needs within the building. Team members work together to create a positive, welcoming environment, exuding competency and care and ensuring the smooth working of the various aspects of the community.

As the ideal candidate, you make life easier for the people around you. You enjoy coordinating onsite activities and keeping communication flowing effectively. You assist residents with various requests as well as keep residents informed regarding events and information relating to the building. You are highly trustworthy, consistently demonstrating integrity, discretion and patience, and you enjoy using your organizational skills to provide excellent service. You meet challenges and emergencies with a calm and collected demeanour and diplomatically seek solutions that will allow the best outcome for all involved. In this position, you will interact with a diverse group of people including owners, residents, prospective purchasers, other front desk staff, contractors, the building manager, the strata council and the property management company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet everyone entering and exiting the building
  • Supply owners, residents and guests with directions and information regarding building amenities, services, hours of operation, plus local areas of interest
  • Provide information regarding, coordinate and monitor move-in and move-out processes
  • Provide new owners/residents with an orientation tour of the ground floor amenities and inform them of various building items of note
  • Manage reservations for guest suite and the conference room
  • Receive and process payments in accordance with applicable policies
  • Handle couriers and contact residents
  • Assist with residents’ requests as applicable
  • Coordinate on-site activities
  • Be completely familiar with the strata corporation’s policies, safety, emergency and fire system in the building
  • Perform day to day administrative tasks
  • Complete light janitorial duties as required
  • Maintain composure and discretion
  • Ensure that confidential and sensitive information is not disclosed
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

  • Customer service experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to manage own schedule and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage people and situations gracefully
  • A satisfactory criminal record check

Job Details:         This is a permanent, part-time position as an employee of the strata corporation (20-25 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours). The desk is staffed 7 days a week from 9am – 9pm. Shifts run from 9am to 3pm and from 3pm to 9pm. $15.00/hour
